Management of the soil-borne fungal pathogen – Verticillium dahliae Kleb. causing vascular wilt diseases

چکیده
Abstract Vascular wilt diseases caused by Verticillium dahliae Kleb. are difficult to control and lead increasing losses of many crops worldwide. It can cause disease on not only horticultural but also economically important such vegetables, legumes, forest trees, woody herbaceous plants. Reasons this situation various: (i) the specialization crop production resulted in accumulation pathogen soil, especially monoculture production; (ii) lack an efficient safe soil fumigation method; (iii) large amounts survival structures—microslerotia melanized hyphae that resistant chemical biological degradation. Due effective synthetic agents for eradication V. from considerable interest paper has been focused control, selection microorganisms with mycoparasitic activity towards microsclerotia, decrease their number soil. The main attention is paid Trichoderma fungi, non pathogenic Fusarium spp., Talaromyces flavus bacteria Bacillus Pseudomonas spp. Streptomyces discussed review. In work suppressive effect organic amendments against soil-borne mentioned. addition biofumigation using toxic plant materials, which approach management could be method .

Evaluation of strawberry cultivars for resistance to Verticillium dahliae Kleb
Verticillium dahlia Kleb. is a soil-borne pathogen which causes worldwide economically important plant and yield losses. So far no resistance preventing the fungus from growing in the plants could be found in the genus Fragaria. But there are cultivars with different levels of tolerance. In particular after the ban on chemical control with effective soil disinfectants (methylbromid) cultivation...
متن کاملComplete mitochondrial genome of the Verticillium-wilt causing plant pathogen Verticillium nonalfalfae
Verticillium nonalfalfae is a fungal plant pathogen that causes wilt disease by colonizing the vascular tissues of host plants. The disease induced by hop isolates of V. nonalfalfae manifests in two different forms, ranging from mild symptoms to complete plant dieback, caused by mild and lethal pathotypes, respectively. Pathogenicity variations between the causal strains have been attributed to...
متن کاملFunctional Analysis of the Pathogenicity-Related Gene VdPR1 in the Vascular Wilt Fungus Verticillium dahliae
Verticillium dahliae Kleb., the causal agent of vascular wilt, can seriously diminish the yield and quality of many crops, including cotton. The pathogenic mechanism to cotton is complicated and unclear now. To screen pathogencity related genes and identify their function is the reliable way to explain the mechanism. In this study, we obtained a low-pathogenicity mutant vdpr1 from a T-DNA inser...
متن کاملCharacterization of Chinese eggplant isolates of the fungal pathogen Verticillium dahliae from different geographic origins.
Verticillium dahliae is a fungal pathogen that causes wilt disease in a wide range of host plants. Characterization of virulence, morphological, and molecular variations among V. dahliae isolates from different geographic origins is essential for any breeding program aimed at producing plant cultivars resistant to this disease. We characterized virulence variation among V. dahliae isolates...
